Shakopee, Minn. (Jan. 28, 2015) –Hentges Racing’s Kody Kamm wins back to back Winter X Games silver medals this year in Snowmobile Snocross on his Polaris Industries / Monster Energy / FXR Racing machine.
“I had a terrible start and had to work my way up from fifth. X Games turned out really good for me again! I rode very smooth and consistent for how rough the track was. I cannot be happier that I repeated and am bringing home another silver medal,” said Kamm about his X Games finish.
Justin Broberg, who won bronze last year, took home a fifth place finish this year after a great start in third position.
“The track wasn’t the typical X Games track. It was a lot more technical and got rougher throughout the day. The team is leaving healthy and can now focus on the national races that are left. I am happy with how I rode and finished in the final but it’s disappointing not to be bringing home another medal,” said Broberg about his X Games experience.
In the final the Hentges Racing teammates lined up side-by-side in the middle of the pack on a gate of 10 competitors for a 20 lap final, twice as long as the heat races. After great starts for third and fourth position, Kamm makes the outside to inside pass on lap four around Broberg and moves into a medal position. A four second gap would separate Kamm from the race leader, Tucker Hibbert. On lap five, Adam Renheim passes Broberg bumping him back to fifth place where he would finish.
On lap seven, Kamm makes a smooth, clean pass downhill on Ross Martin for second place. Kamm rode the remaining 13 laps clean and right onto the podium for an X Games silver medal.
