Reporter Kate Osborne Joins the Team
November 15, 2016 Albertville, MN.
Are you ready? The broadcast announcers for AMSOIL Championship Snocross are cued and ready to call racing action of the World’s Greatest Snocross Racers. The 2016-17 National Series will be televised by The CBS Sports Network and live streamed to the world each weekend.
The announce team is led by Snocross veterans Chris Hawkey, “Iron” Mike Schroeder, and new host/reporter Kate Osborne, who comes to Snocross via a myriad of motorsports shows on NBC and Fox.
Chris “Hawk” Hawkey is familiar to many in the Twin Cities, from his work with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, as well as the top rated morning drive show on KFAN. Hawk, who also fronts a popular country music band, is excited about the many great story lines this season. “Can 10 time champ Tucker Hibbert repeat ? Are we watching the greatest racer of all time?”
Racing expert, “Iron” Mike Schroeder is preparing for his 15th season in the broadcast booth. He’s impressed with the steady, continued growth and popularity of Snocross.
“The racers and sleds keep getting faster, the crowds grow larger and the ratings on TV and live stream are growing.”
The live stream numbers last season were impressive as 729,000 viewers tuned in on-line. Snocross Broadcasters ready to race!
The latest addition to the broadcast package is reporter and host Kate Osborne. While this is Kate’s first season covering Snocross, she’s certainly no stranger to motorsports and racing. Kate hosts PowerNation airing on Spike, CBS Sports & NBC Sports. She is also a reporter for TORC, Mecum Car Auctions on NBC Sports and has covered various other racing and professional sports for ESPN and Fox Sports.
