Cottew Motorsports has teamed up with Rockstar Energy’s Jolene Van Vugt for the upcoming Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Lake Geneva, WI, national Amsoil Championship Snocross races. Jolene is a Canadian women’s national motocross champion. She is best known for her decade’s worth of work with Nitro Circus, setting multiple records of female world firsts during that time, most distinguished being the first female to backflip a full size dirt bike. She continues to want to broaden her horizons and looks for the next adventure, snocross being one of the sports she’s always wanted to try.
Jolene arrived at the Cottew Motorsports race shop this week to get some practice time in with the team. Warm temperatures and rain kept racers off the track until Tuesday. Jolene had fun when she was finally able to get some seat time. The sled will be an adjustment for Jolene, but she is excited for this new challenge. As an action sports star, Jolene has experienced most styles of dirt bike racing, and is expanding her portfolio to include other things like Polaris RZR’s, and now Polaris snowmobiles. Team owner Jeff Cottew is excited to have Jolene on one of his sleds, and hopes she has a great time in the world of snocross. You can learn more about Jolene’s story as she is featured in ESPN magazines, “The Entertainment Issue,” on newsstands now. Welcome Jolene!
