Finley, ND (March 1, 2017) – Evan Christian collected a heat race win in the Jr. 16-17 class, along with a top five in the main event, but it was a rough weekend overall for the team in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Christian enters this weekend’s race fourth in the Jr. 14-15 points and fifth in the Jr. 16-17 class, with an opportunity to gain a spot or two as the series winds to a close in three weeks.
Jay Lura continues to battle at the top of the Sport class but suffered a setback when he missed the class final on Saturday. Lura was taken out by another competitor in one of his heat races and had to start deep in the last chance qualifier and failed to advance.
James Johnstad also struggled throughout the weekend and was not able to transfer to the Pro Lite main event on either night.
The team is excited to move on to the new ski hill venue in Dubuque, Iowa this Friday and Saturday and get back on track as we hit the home stretch.
