Acker, Levi split Pro Lite finals in Malone for East Coast Snocross, Presented by Woody’s Traction & FXR
MALONE, New York (Mar. 11, 2019) — Veteran snowmobile racers Wade Acker and Adam Levi each won a Pro Lite final over the weekend, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) completed Rounds 10 and 11 on the 15-race 2019 schedule at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
Levi, of Inlet, N.Y., held off Acker (Team Southside/Polaris) by just under four seconds for top honors Saturday’s 13-lap grind, contested on one of the longest tracks seen thus far in 2019. Dalton Jacquier (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat) put in another solid effort to fill out the podium in third.
On Sunday, Acker, of Bristol, Vermont, bounced back to edge Levi by a mere two seconds at the line. Nick Edwards hit the podium in style with a strong third-place performance in a 11-lap battle. The Pro Lite riders were competitive again in Malone, with seven (Sat.) and six (Sun.) sleds on the lead lap.
Mike Pilotte continued his dominance of the Pro Open ranks in Malone. The finely-tuned athlete from Northwood, N.H., held off rising Vermont star Brad Tatro for top honors both days, while another young talent, Dylan Roes (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat) claimed a pair of third-place finishes.
Everyone knew it would come, yet nobody could predict exactly when the stranglehold that Theresa Max held on the ECS Pro Women finals this season would end. On Saturday, ECS newcomer Syndee Williams put an end to a nine-race win streak for the Ottsville, PA., native. Max settled for second, while Brooke Ouderkirk (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) filled out the podium in third. Max bounced back to claim her 10th victory of the season on Sunday over Ashley Baird and Ouderkirk.
In Sport action at Malone, Travis Emery outgunned his weekly rivals on the big, technical track. Emery held off Kolton Gillilan for top honors in Sport Super Stock 600 on Saturday, while Brandon Grey finished a solid third. Gavin Fleury notched the win on Sunday, with Gillilan and Emery in tow.
Jake Boutwell has enjoyed a stellar season in the ECS Junior classes thus far in 2019. The rising star from Keene, N.H., held off weekly rivals Gillilan and Steven Max to claim the Jr. 16-17 Finals in Malone. Max would not be outdone, earning the Jr. Sport 12-15 final wins on Saturday and Sunday.
Other final round winners over the weekend in Malone include Garrett Powell (Plus 30 Pro Am Saturday); Tristan Huey (Plus 30 Pro Am Sunday); Jacob Lux (Plus 25/35 Sat. & Sun.); Connor Crane (Jr. 7-14 Improved 200 Saturday & Sunday); and Steven Max (Jr. Novice 10-13 Saturday & Sunday).

Return to Mount Southington Ski Area on tap for East Coast Snocross,

ARKSBURG, Mass. (March 13, 2019) — When a relatively new venue has a special “feel”and hospitality about it, there’s an increased level of excitement among race teams and fans.
This coming weekend, March 16-17, that feeling will be in the air again as East Coast Snocross (ECS) contests Rounds 12 and 13 on the 15-race schedule at the beautiful Mount Southington Ski Area in Plantsville, Connecticut.
Spectator gates open at 10 a.m. each day. Admission is $12 per day for adults or $20 for a weekend pass. Children age seven and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Pro Open and Pro Lite classes will hit the track at approximately 11:30 a.m. for first-round qualifying. Sport, Women and Junior classes will also compete for points over the weekend as the championship season winds down.
Leading the charge into Mt. Southington is current point leader and defending Pro Open champion and Fall River, Mass., native Mike Pilotte (now living in Northwood, NH). The seasoned veteran is getting close to securing his first career Pro title on the highly-competitive regional tour.
Ready to challenge Pilotte are Vermont native Bradley Tatro and Team Southside/Polaris veteran Ryan Dupont. Watching the Pro athletes in action as they defy gravity and muscle their sleds around the track is awe-inspiring.
In the Pro Lite class, Adam Levi, Adam Ashline, Dalton Jacquier and Wade Acker have all won Finals this winter and will be strong in Connecticut. Jacquier, of Canaan, Conn., will be out to record another win in his home state in front of family and friends.
Mount Southington opened in 1964 on the site of an old dairy farm. The ski area was a vision of Dr. Harold Richman, who, along with other family members and the Palmisano family, of Bristol, CT, purchased the farm, carved out trails, installed lifts and snowmaking equipment and began to create the Mount Southington Ski Area of today. After 55 years, their efforts are still making great memories.
“We’re very excited about going back to Mount Southington,” series owner Kurt Gagne said. “The staff has rolled out the red carpet for us there since day one. Our racers enjoy the terrain there and fans come out to enjoy our high-flying show. We can’t wait to roll in and get set things set up.”

Pilotte sweeps Pro finals in Oswego for East Coast Snocross series,

Kirchmeyer, Kierstead split Pro lite finals
SANDY CREEK, New York (Mar. 4, 2019) — Massachusetts native Mike Pilotte continued his 2019 hot streak over the weekend, sweeping the Pro finals as East Coast Snocross (ECS) completed Rounds 8 and 9 at the Oswego County Fairgrounds.
Rising stars Jesse Kirchmeyer (Team Southside/Polaris, Saturday) and Tucker Kierstead (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat, Sunday) split the Pro Lite finals in two of the most competitive races seen thus far in 2019. Kirchmeyer also finished second to Pilotte in Saturday’s Pro final ahead of Adam Levi.
Kirchmeyer followed Pilotte across the stripe again in Sunday’s 14-lap Pro Open battle, while native Vermont native and ECS veteran Bradley Tatro finished third. In Saturday’s grueling 15-lap Pro Lite final, Dalton Jacquier (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat) finished second by just under five seconds, while Adam Ashline (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) filled out the podium.
Fans in attendance at Oswego witnessed two incredible races from the Pro Lite athletes. On Saturday, an impressive eight of 12 sleds finished on the lead lap, while 10 of 12 completed all 15 laps on Sunday. Kierstead’s margin of victory over Ashline was a mere 1.5 seconds, with Levi close, as well.
Theresa Max (SBT Racing/Ski-doo) notched her eighth straight Pro Women win on Saturday, keeping her undefeated streak alive for 2019. Ashley Baird (Team Southside/Polaris) finished a strong second, while Brooke Ouderkirk (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) put in another solid effort for third.
In Sport action at Oswego, Kolton Gillilan set a blistering pace on Saturday to earn the Super Stock 600 victory. Weekly rival Gavin Fleury crossed the stripe in second, while Travis Emery filled out the podium in third. Fleury found redemption with a win on Sunday over Gillilan and Emery.
Jake Boutwell continued his 2019 hot streak in Junior classes over the weekend. The red-hot rider from Keene, N.H., claimed the Jr. 14-15 and Jr. 16-17 finals each day, putting him one step closer to the season points titles. Steven Max (SBT Racing/Ski-doo) won a pair of Jr. Sport 12-15 finals.
Other final round winners over the weekend in Sandy Creek include Nate Wilkinson (Plus 30 Pro Am Saturday); Tristan Huey (Plus 30 Pro Am Sunday); and Jacob Lux (Plus 25/35 Sat./Sunday). For Wilkinson, who had chased Huey on many occasions, that first Final victory was extra special.
