Finley, ND (March 7, 2023) – Rounds 9 & 10 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour marked a first time stop at Huset’s Speedway just outside of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The historic Sprint Car racing facility featured some of the nicest pit area and spectator amenities of the season and the region’s die hard race fans showed up in force.
Friday was a challenging day for both riders as they had to race their way into the main event via the last chance qualifier. This meant starting the 15 rider main event from the back row, however, both guys were able to move forward into the top 10, with Evan Daudt finishing seventh and Evan Christian coming home in 10th.
Saturday was a better showing all around as both Evans went straight into the main event after posting identical heat race scores of 3-2 in their two rounds.
Evan Daudt, who had been feeling under the weather during the morning, dropped a couple of positions in the opening circuits of the main event before putting in a late race charge. On the final lap Daudt made a pass into fourth and crossed the finish line less than one second back from the final podium spot.
Like Daudt, Evan Christian lost two spots at the start of Saturday’s final before rebounding through the pack. EC battled his way as high as seventh before finishing eighth at the checkers.
The Huset’s Speedway course featured an abundance of natural snow which, combined with the warm temps, became extremely technical and demanding. Both riders survived the event healthy and while not completely satisfied, are eager to get back on track again this weekend to keep moving up in the class championship.
