Hentges Racing Scores Podium Finish At Deadwood Snocross

Shakopee, MN (January 23, 2018) – Deadwood, South Dakota, played host to Rounds 7-8 on the Snocross National tour, and the venue brought its unique challenges to Hentges Racing riders Kody Kamm and Petter Narsa. Held at the Days of 76 rodeo grounds in the middle of town, the bullring-style track featured tight racing that left little room for error. The historic, scenic venue also brought mild temperatures all weekend, with some fans even sporting short sleeves.
Kamm was on his way to a strong showing in the final on Friday, going 1-5 in heats, when he came off his sled and ended up 6th. Saturday turned out better with a 2nd place podium finish, but Kamm was on the cusp of even more all the way up until the end of the race.
“I got the holeshot and led the entire race,” Kamm said. “I made one mistake on the last lap and got passed. It was a tough weekend, this place doesn’t let you make any mistakes!”
Narsa went 5-4 in qualifying, earning a good starting spot for the final. He was up front but fell a couple spots and finished 5th. A back row starting spot on the small track added up to 7th place finish Saturday night for the Swedish rider.
“I was happy with my finish on Friday,” Narsa said. “I had a good start and ended up losing a couple spots, but on a small track like this that’s how fast things can happen. Saturday was a little more of a struggle. We’ll regroup and start focusing on the next event in New York.”
