#40 Oskar Norum Sweeps the Weekend, Gets First Two Wins of Season and Moves to Third in Points

Shakopee, MN (3/21/21) – Hentges Racing executed a show stopping display of determination and will to win this weekend in Eagle River, as the #40 Polaris of Oscar Norum won both Pro rounds.

Based on Norum’s four visits to the podium this season (Elk River 3rd/Dubuque 2nd/Deadwood 2nd/Fargo 3rd), you knew it was a short matter of time before the Swedish racer would capture his first victory of the season, and first-ever on an American snocross track.

Norum said, “To win races in the U.S.A has been my dream. I can’t thank Hentges Racing, Polaris and the rest of our great sponsors for believing in me and giving that opportunity.”

Norum’s weekend looked strong during qualifying as he went 3-3 on Friday and 1-6 Saturday. During Fridays final, the Swedish champ was out front running in the top three in hot pursuit of the leader. The Hentges Polaris appeared flawless as it dominated the World Championship track with speed, agility and driving through the bumps as if they weren’t there. With 11 seconds left on the 10-minute run time clock, Norum passed for first and distanced himself on the additional two laps to take the win.

The battle for the lead during Saturday’s Pro final will probably go down as one of the best in recent snocross history. Watching the race, you could feel the energy building as Norum found his speed, then strategically battled for nearly six minutes with the first-place rider. When every bit of the track had been covered by the top two, Norum passed and charged to his second victory, sweeping the weekend.

Norum said, “I’ve been consistent all year. Our equipment is top-notch. I came into this weekend with a lot of positivity. I really wanted to show everyone, and myself, I could win. It all came together. Twice!”

Hentges Racing team owner, Nate Hentges said, “Oskar’s performance was definitely a highlight of our season. I’m very proud of him, and happy to see him celebrate his milestone wins.”

Next up, Hentges Racing will return to Eagle River, WI March 26-28, 2021 for the final two rounds of the season. Currently Oskar Norum is 3rd in National Pro points, and Kody Kamm is 9th.
